Ever hear of Under Armour?
Chances are, if you’ve played sports, you’ve heard of Under Armour. Especially football!
The Under Armour company is best known for its line of form-fitting, moisture-wicking clothing designed to be worn under sportswear. Not surprisingly, the company was founded by a former football player, Kevin Plank. He played with the University of Maryland who got tired of having to change out of the sweat-soaked T-shirts he wore under his jersey, so he decided to make a shirt that would wick the moister away from your body.
After he graduated from the University of Maryland, he looked for some kind of synthetic moisture-wicking fabric to use for the T-shirts. It took seven prototypes before he decided on a material that worked the way he wanted it to. After that, he had T-shirts made, and the rest, as they say, is history.
The company keeps expanding and has a lot more than just T-shirts these days.
